Rules for ALL Applicants // Staff
BEFORE proceeding :: Please Read The Following:
» NO replays of the same song more than twice, during one session
» EVERYONE is considered a "Tryout DJ" until approved by Admin/Head DJ's
» BE YOURSELF. Having your own unique way of DJing is a plus
» Advertise asianload.com/asianloadradio.com/ALRadio Weekly Charts during your DJ session
» ALL DJs are required to have an MSN screen name for contacts.
» Please make sure your connection is working properly before connecting
» Microphone test prior to DJ session is recommended to ensure microphone is working properly
» ALL DJ's must be respectful to the "higher-ups" Although this is not a real job, please treat it like it is. There are seniority ranks, and they are there for a reason. Any disrespect will result in a strike and/or expulsion. (See Rank below)
» BE RESPECTFUL to listeners and DJs and also support other DJs as much as possible (By tuning into their session, or participation in their event)
---
:: DJ Schedule ::
» Be as active as possible. At least 2 hours a week
» All DJs will be given a schedule that fits and works for their lives and availability of times
» Advance notice is REQUIRED for anyone not able to come to their DJ Session (1 Week & 2days prior to session at the latest)(Last minute cancellations will be counted against you)
» If you can not make your session :: 1. find another DJ replacement (Asking a friend that is NOT an Alradio DJ is unacceptable it is unfair to our DJs as well as our Tryout DJs) 2. Tell the Admin/Head DJ (In that order)
» If a DJ does not show within 10~15 minutes into their DJ session, it will be up for anyone who can DJ and that time (If a DJ does not show up or does not have a valid excuse for a no-show, they will receive a strike)
» If you can not show up for your session make sure you tell either an ADMIN/Head DJ, do not ask a regular DJ to tell us for you. (This is your responsibility; not someone elses)
» A DJ is allowed to take 2.5 months off for a "vacation", also it's called a vacation they must provide the reason for it. If you have a very urgent matter that stops you from DJing, we will overlook the time rule. BUT if you do not have a valid excuse and your explanation is vague this will only be tolerated up to a certain point and this might cost you your DJ status. So be careful!
» If a DJ is taking up unnecessary vacation time, and extending their "off" time for no real/valid reason, this will result in a strike
»A DJ's vacation = When you are not able to get on air at ANY time. which means NO filling in when your on vacation, because if you can DJ for someone else's session, why can't you DJ for your own? Also during a vacation, it usually means you also arn't able to visit the chat frequently
» THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT :: as much as we appreciate that everyone contributes to the radio, please remember, this is not work, YOU DO NOT GET PAID, this is for personal enjoyment, there is no need to DJ 10 hours a week, DJ when you can and when you like to.
» Although it is not a paid job, you should still treat it as a job (IE: No slacking off, starting drama, valid excuses for absence, etc)
---
:: During DJ Session ::
» It is recommended a DJ close all unneccesary programs during your session (Acceptable programs: MSN, Winamp, Chatroom, 1 Browser Window)(IE: No Downloads/Uploads) This prevents buffering/skipping
» When you are on air, we suggest you don't type in chat or MSN or if you must keep it to a minimum. We don't want to hear you clicking and typing for 4 minutes.
» If A DJ will have a known technical difficulty during their session, please tell us instead of going on air and disconnecting every 5 minutes.
» DJ are required to be present in the chat room as well as the STAFF chatroom while DJ'ing
» DJ tag is required to inform listeners on who to request songs from.
» Request of songs must be done through PM and not in the main chat
» No replays of the same song more than twice per session/under 1 hour. If same songs are requested often, DJ should kindly ask the listener to pick another song to avoid having the same song played on the radio over and over
» We encourage DJ's to talk about music, dramas, and daily life experiences but please talk about a variety of topics, and as much as personal stories are entertaining, keep it to a minimum.
» At times a DJ may accidentally swear, but it is NOT okay to swear at 200wpm during the talking section of your DJ
» BE RESPECTFUL. It is NOT okay under ANY circumstances to swear or yell at a DJ/Admin/Head DJ/PLer/Chat Mod/Listener on air! If you have a personal conflict PRIVATE MESSAGE THEM, do not start drama when your on air.
» If we feel a DJ is being disrespectful or spitting out too much profanity, a Head/Admin DJ has the right to kick the DJ off air without warning
---
:: Dual DJing ::
» WHAT: Dual DJing is when you are allowed to get a special guest to DJ with you via Skype.
» ALL Dual DJ requests must go through an Admin/Head DJ
» A Admin/Head/Co-Head/Assist Co-Head MUST be present during your dual DJ session
» Dual DJing is only allowed to official DJ's of alradio (Tryout DJs are not allowed to have a guest DJ)
» Official DJs may ask a Tryout DJ to dual DJ with them
» DJ with extensive knowledge and experience of dual DJing will be given permanent permission to Dual DJ without supervission, but permission must still be asked. (Please see list below)
» Although Dual DJing is encouraged, please be aware that NOT EVERYONE IS SUITABLE FOR DUAL DJ, in other words, not everyone can make it entertaining, this does not mean a person cannot make it work, just more effort is required. Some computers may not be able to support dual DJing as well.
» When Dual DJing, be considerate of time, and between songs, please limit speaking time to 5 minutes. If a topic is intense, 10 minutes it the maximum.
» When Dual DJing, remember not to make the conversation between you and the other DJ or Listener. This meant keeping the conversation to where listeners can understand; listen to car radio for clarification.
